Transload Facility

Trenton, ND

R&M Engineering worked with Savage Services Corporation from conceptual design through final design of a double loop rail loading facility. This project is for the transfer of crude oil from truck to tanks, and then onto rail unit trains. The facility also has several transload tracks for other essential products used in the crude oil field.

R&M’s portion of the project was the design of the original rail layout and all subsequent rail additions. The design has been done per the BNSF design guide.

R&M is the primary structural designer for the facility. This work included the foundations for 5 different tanks, truck unloading and rail loading buildings, and pipe supports on the site. Recently R&M did the structural design (both steel and concrete) for an additional canopy for the inner loop rail crude loading.
